A 28-Year-Old Woman Has A Rare Condition That Makes Her Look Decades Older

Ever since the birth of her first child, this 28-year-old woman has experienced extreme aginging. Hu Juan suffers from a rare skin condition called Cutis laxa. The connective tissues in her face and neck are affected, causing her skin to look severely and prematurely aged. She is the only known sufferer of this disease in China, and one of ten in the entire world.

Six months after giving birth to her first child, Hu Juan noticed that her skin was rapidly aging and losing its elasticity. She was only 17 when she started showing symptoms of the disease.

Hu Juan can barely muster enough courage to look at herself in the mirror. She spends most of her time inside the house, away from eyes. Hu Juan's 11-year-old son is embarrassed to be seen with her, which makes her want to hide away inside.

At one point, her depression was so severe, she attempted to take her own life. Positive therapy is now the most important part of Hu Juan's treatment.

Luckily, Hu Juan has a very loving and supportive husband by her side. With the help of her one man cheering squad, doctors hope Hu Juan will gain enough confidence in herself to continue living and battle back against this unfortunate disease.

Currently, there is no known treatment for Cutis laxa, besides various forms of plastic surgery and Botox. Thankfully, for Hu Juan, her minor surgeries helped her restore some part of her confidence so that she can go out in public with confidence.
