Chelsea sign Burkinabe teenager Traore
LONDON (AFP) – Premier League giants Chelsea announced on Thursday that they have signed 18-year-old Burkinabe midfielder Bertrand Traore on a four-year contract.

The Burkina Faso international, who arrives from Association Jeunes Espoirs De Bobo-Dioulasso, spent time on trial with Chelsea during their close-season tour of Asia this year, notably scoring against Malaysia and Indonesia.
"Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce an agreement to sign Bertrand Traore," said a statement on the Chelsea website. "The 18-year-old has agreed a four-and-a-half year contract."
Traore made his Burkina Faso debut shortly before his 16th birthday in September 2011.
He has made 10 international appearances, scoring one
Barca unconcerned by Messi goal drought
MADRID (AFP) – Barcelona coach Gerardo Martino said he is not worried about Lionel Messi's month-long La Liga goal drought as Barca prepare to face Espanyol on in the Catalan derby on Friday.
Messi hasn't scored in the league since pulling up with a thigh strain in the 2-0 win at Almeria on September 28.
The Argentine subsequently missed the 4-1 drubbing of Valladolid at the Camp Nou and only came on for the final 30 minutes of the 0-0 draw at Osasuna.
He returned to the starting line-up for the victories over Real Madrid and Celta Vigo in the past week without managing to find the net, but Martino believes his compatriot is being unfairly treated due to the incredibly high standards he has set in recent seasons.
"Messi has made us accustomed to an average of three goals a game," said Martino.
"He can play a very, very good match like he did at Celta and not score a goal and it seems like there is a problem."
And rather than considering a rest for Messi, given Barca's hectic schedule with three more games in the next week, Martino says the four-time World Player of the Year needs more game time to get up to full speed.
"We cannot think about taking care of players so that they don't get injured, we are only trying to ensure that they don't end up fatigued and tired.
"In the case of Leo, with what has happened against Atletico and Almeria he has already had two episodes and what he needs now is a run of games.
"When we talk about Leo we are talking about someone whose footballing repertoire never ends. Even a bad game for him always produces something good."
On the injury front Martino has a problem at left-back for the visit of Espanyol as Adriano has joined Jordi Alba on the sidelines with a hamstring problem, so right-back Martin Montoya is expected to start in an unfamiliar role.
Elsewhere on the field, though, Barca are likely to be back to full strength with Gerardo Pique, Xavi, Andres Iniesta and Neymar all returning after being rested against Celta.
And Martino is expecting a tough test from Barca's modest neighbours.
"Winning would allow us to continue as leaders. The important thing is we concentrate on how we play, maintain our style and do things well.
"One of the characteristics of Espanyol is to be very aggressive and combative, but when they have the ball they can also play with players like Sergio Garcia, Pizzi and Simao."

ALUU 4: Court admits video evidence of murder scene
PORT HARCOURT—A Rivers State High Court sitting in Port Harcourt, has admitted a YouTube video download of last year's murder of four University of Port Harcourt students in Omoukiri-Aluu as exhibit in the ongoing trial of the accused persons.
Trial judge, Justice Latan Nyordee, in his ruling, admitted the video as evidence, after defence counsel had challenged the admissibility of same. The video footage was tendered by the prosecution. But the defence argued that the video did not originate from the police.
Justice Nyordee in his ruling, noted that the tendered video footage, irrespective of its source, was bound to be admitted as exhibit to the extent of its relevance to the trial as overriding every other consideration.

World’s First Séx School Costs £1,400 A Term
The world's first séx school has caused outrage in Austria after teaching séxual positions and caressing techniques in a 'hands on' manner.
In every class at every school there is always one kid who never does his or her homework. That is, until the Austrian International Séx School in Vienna opened its doors.
We can't imagine they have any problems in encouraging their pupils to partake in some… extra curricular activities.
Charging £1,400 per term the school offers hand-on lessons in seduction – and yes, hands-on means what you think it does.
Students even live in a mixed séx dormitory where they are advised to help each other do their 'assignments'.
The headmistress – Ylva-Maria Thompson – is, perhaps unsurprisingly, a pórn star and presenter of an erótic TV show.
The 51-year-old said: 'The emphasis is on how tobe a better lover. Séxual positions, caressing techniques, anatomical features. And we teach people hands-on.'
However the school has had its critics – TV adverts showing a couple having sex have already been banned, with many claiming that the school is essentially just selling séx.

Photo: Woman caught with dead day old baby in sack in Lagos
It was gathered that a member of the community, High Chief Babatunde Balogun caught the mother of seven when she was trying to dispose the baby at about 5 p.m. on Wednesday. When questioned on the content of the sack, she claimed she was coming from the market where she bought some household items.
However, on a closer look, Balogun discovered that the sack contained a dead day old baby the woman allegedly had just delivered. He then called the attention of the other residents. Neighbours told P.M Newsthat after Mujidat's husband known as Baba Mushin died about three years ago, they have seen men visiting her residence, the house built by her late husband.When asked if she planned to throw away the baby because of an alleged paternity mess, she denied, claiming that a welder turned block maker near her residence was responsible for the pregnancy that resulted in the birth of the dead baby she was caught with.
She claimed she took delivery of the baby by herself because she found it easy and therefore did not go to any hospital or sought anybody's help.
At about 9 p.m yesterday when P.M.NEWS visited the area, residents of the area were still milling around the residence of the woman.
Officials of the Community Development Association, CDA, in the area later accompanied the woman and her sack of baby to the Isheri-Oshun Police Division where the matter was reported. At the time of this report, the woman was still being interrogated.

Learning to live comfortably on a limited budget and income means taking control of your money. When you have minimal money coming in, the rules of budgeting change. The line between needs and wants is clear, as you have less to spend each month on unnecessary purchases.
For some individuals, money is the most difficult thing to obtain when starting a business, but it remains the most important asset in any venture, experts say. Unpaid bills, failure to pay employees' salaries, unpaid taxes and rents, and other unmet financial obligations can put an entrepreneur out of business.
They note that one biggest challenge confronting most entrepreneurs is the ability to adequately separate their personal and business finances. The Managing Director, Adax Computer Services, Mr. Adekunle Animashaun, says some young entrepreneurs are not disciplined enough in terms of managing finances. He notes that entrepreneurs should see the finances of the business as belonging to the company, adding that this will help to curtail unnecessary spending.
Experts advise young entrepreneurs to learn how to master money management in order not to run their businesses aground. According to them, knowledge, patience and the fear of failing may do it for the entrepreneur. They say proper management of money will encourage saving and this will inevitably lead to business success. By saving, the entrepreneur can invest twice the amount of his capital. Below are some money management tips for entrepreneurs of budding businesses, according to experts:
Borrow office space if possible
For a young entrepreneur starting up a new business that requires an office space, experts advise that you should not consider buying the office space at first. The entrepreneur should make inquiries for free available space from friends, family relatives and colleagues. He should continue with this until he is able to make tangible earnings from the business. This, experts say, will not just save the entrepreneur some money; it will also boost his business experience.
For individuals who could not get a free space to run their business, it is advisable to settle for affordable outlets at strategic locations. The entrepreneur should not rush to acquire fancy furniture, but should apply wisdom when making purchases for his office. However, experts say this is an exception. Entrepreneurs whose businesses attract regular visits by clients should try and get a space or should look out for a neighbouring outlet to host their customers.
Trim down lodging/flight cost
When on official assignments, the young entrepreneur should try as much as possible to reduce the cost of lodging in hotels. During such periods, he can put up with a friend or family relative in that area instead of lodging in a luxury hotel. To efficiently manage his resources, he should look for cheap hotels if there is no familiar person who lives around the area. The entrepreneur should book online tickets, as most of them are cheaper than tickets booked on the ticketing and reservation stands of airlines. For distances that can be covered going by road, he must not hesitate to travel by land. All this is to cut cost and manage your capital efficiently, experts say.
Cut down power cost
One good way to reduce cost of power is to ensure that you keep a continuous check on all appliances in your office. Animashaun says switching off all appliances that are not meeting any desired demand at any particular time will reduce electricity cost. Young entrepreneurs must make sure they switch off fans, air conditioners, light, refrigerators and computers whenever they are not in use.
Experts say entrepreneurs tend not to realise that printers consume more power. They note that having a printer is usually very costly. According to them, the entrepreneur can print on both sides of a paper whenever this is possible and should use affordable and good papers as well as printer cartridges in a bid to cut down printing cost.
Rent out unused items
"For items not in use, do not hesitate to rent them out," Animashaun says. Experts note that items like coffee maker, photocopier, air conditioner, unused refrigerators and computers can be rented out or sold outright. Extra office space can be rented out also to earn more funds for your business, they say.
They advise that the entrepreneur cuts down stationary cost. According to experts, young entrepreneurs must not spend on items that can be made available free of cost. Some of such items include stationary articles like pen, paper, notepad, etc. These items, they say, are often given out for free by many hotels and sponsors. By following these tips adequately, the entrepreneur will be able to manage his fund better.
Negotiate thoroughly before payments
Experts advise that the entrepreneur should develop his negotiating skills. He should negotiate with every vendor that comes across his business. Animashaun says even if he is able to save five to six per cent, it's a good start.
Draft and stick to your budget
The entrepreneur must be able to draft a budget. He should also stick to this budget. "This is, of course, another money management measure that is very vital for the success of any business," he adds.
Burial of First Lady’s mother: Police beef up security in Port Harcourt
PORT HARCOURT— SECURITY has been beefed in Port Harcourt, Okrika, Eleme and other adjourning local government areas in Rivers State, ahead of the funeral of the foster mother of wife of President Goodluck Jonathan, Madam Charity Oba, which begins today with a service of songs.
The road leading to the Port Harcourt Polo club, venue of the service of songs was being rehabilitated, yesterday, with traffic diverted to other routes. At the Polo club, canopies were already being erected for the service of songs.
There was heavy police presence on all roads in the area. At the residence of the late Madam Oba, there were about two police patrol vehicles stationed close to the building with heavy security presence in and outside the building on King Perekule Street, GRA, Port Harcourt.
At the old GRA residence of the First Lady, Mrs Patience Jonathan, there was also heavy security presence. At press time, vehicles were allowed to drive through the road from the Port Harcourt club end.
It was a different ball game on Njemanze Road in Diobu area of Port Harcourt, one of the roads leading to the morgue, where the corpse of late Madam Oba was deposited as it was closed to traffic. Policemen were seen on the road diverting traffics to other routes in the area. One of the Police officers told Vanguard that they were deplored to the area to ensure there was no traffic congestion when the family comes for the corpse of the late Madam Oba.
