AFCON qualifiers: NSC has settled all Super Eagles’ allowance – Minister

The Chairman of the National Sports Commission (NSC), Tammy Danagogo, has said the commission has settled all Super Eagles' allowances pertaining to their African Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

Danagogo told newsmen in Abuja on Tuesday that the players' match bonus were paid before they left Nigeria for South Africa for their second AFCON 2015 qualifying match against Bafana Bafana.

The Super Eagles left Nigeria on Wednesday maintained their record of never losing nor conceding a goal against South Africa in a competitive match by forcing a 0-0 Cape Town stalemate.

Also  Super Eagles lost 2-3 to Congo Brazzaville in their first AFCON 2015 qualifying match on Saturday .

The match was played at U.J. Esuene Stadium, Calabar.

" We have done everything that needs to be done on the part of the NSC and I can confirm to you that today, I went with NSC Director-General, Gbenga Elegbeleye, to meet NSC Accountant.

"We wanted to make sure that we do not just approve money but to see that it is paid.

"So, their match bonus has been paid and the only money they have not gotten is their return ticket fund.

"And they will get it immediately after their match in South Africa but they have gotten what they ought to get for the match against Congo,'' Danagogo said.

He, however, noted that several issues contributed to the Super Eagles' 2-3 loss to Congo Brazzaville.

"A lot of factors contributed to the team's loss in Calabar, but I believe they will be addressed.

"Factors like late preparations, almost near-sabotage situations, and some other things that I do not want to talk about,'' Danagogo said.
